Letter to Members - May 10, 2009 Horse Show
The weather forecast leading up to our first show was doubtful, however the day dawned bright, sunny, and incredibly windy! There was a great turnout of horses for the day and it was wonderful to be back in the midst of show season.
We apologize for the lengthy line at the entry booth and have revised our process to hopefully speed-up the process for the June show. You can help us to help you by having all pertinent information completed on your entry form, especially Coggins and Breed numbers.
Our hunt course sported new jumps to add variety and we have a new course designer. We hope you found the course interesting and challenging. We welcome your comments. In an effort to speed the check-in process, we are planning to open a second entry booth in the hunt course area from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM to distribute rider numbers. You will also be able to obtain your warm-up tickets during this time at the hunt course entry booth. This booth will close at 7:30 AM and after that time, all processing will be handled in the main entry booth. Check-out will be handled at the main entry booth only. The SSHC Board is also researching alternative methods for announcing at the hunt course.
The SSHC Board is actively seeking help for our show days. If you have a half hour or an hour on show day, we could use your help opening and closing gates, handing out ribbons, shuttling judges cards to the entry booth and a variety of other tasks.
We thank our participants, spectators, sponsors, vendors and volunteers who worked hard to have a successful show. Without you South Shore Horsemen's Council and our shows would not exist.
Points for the May show will be posted shortly.
